Triple H Speaks About Ronda Rousey And Conor McGregor To WWE

Triple H has helped spearhead a change in the WWE by revolutionizing NXT, and he's not afraid to add cross-over talents to help change things

Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative of WWE, Triple H participated in a Q&A to promote this weekend's WWE UK Championship tournament (which Fightful.com will have live coverage of at 3 PM EST Saturday and Sunday), and was asked about the possibility of MMA stars showing up in WWE.

First on the list was former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, who appeared at WrestleMania 31. She'd go on to land a hip throw on Triple H before attacking Stephanie McMahon, and hasn't appeared on WWE TV since.

"I think it's likely. There's questions of what Ronda Rousey's going to do next. It's likely. She's a huge fan of what we do. As a next step in her career from an entertainment standpoint I think it makes sense and it's something I think it's something she'd love to do. Is that a possibility? Sure," said Triple H.

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor was also mentioned. Triple H attended McGregor's UFC 205 victory over Eddie Alvarez, but not before McGregor sent the wrestling world in a tizzy by insulting the majority of wrestlers (Triple H excluded.)

"Conor has a world of opportunities in front of him. I think he's wisely taking advantage of all the opportunities he can. Whether that be to talk a lot and garner publicity when it comes to like a Mayweather — (even if) that's a reality. I'm sure his number one focus in life is competing in the UFC, but I think he's wide open and he's a smart businessman trying to make his name globally as big as possible. I think WWE certainly has a track record of being able to do that for people. (Conor and I) have a mutual respect for one another. We've chatted briefly. He loves what we do and respects it, but is smart enough to tell people what they want to hear," said HHH.

Fightful had exclusively reported in November that Triple H in particular was interested in going after McGregor.

The former WWE Champion was also asked about opponents he'd have in mind for McGregor and Rousey if they were to transition into the ring.

"Tough to choose. (For Rousey) I'd say maybe Charlotte, because she's been such a dominant force for the women's division. Size, stylistically they match up a lot. McGregor — I think a lot of people would say Brock. There's a 100 pound weight difference there. That would be an interesting fight. There are so many guys in the industry who are so good now — there are a lot of them that have some type of mixed martial arts background that they incorporate into their style. There's a lot of guys a McGregor could wind up with. Whether it be a Seth Rollins, a Finn Balor — who closer to his dimensions. I will say that I'm not fighting Ronda," Triple H said.

Neither Rousey or McGregor currently have fights scheduled, as Rousey is taking time to determine her future, and McGregor is awaiting the birth of his first child.
