Top-15 Flyweight Fight For UFC Fight Night 103
A flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night 103 as #4 Jussier Formiga is set for action against #14 Sergio Pettis.
Formiga (19-4-0) has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, with those four wins coming over Scott Jorgensen, Zach Makovsky, Wilson Reis and Dustin Ortiz. Formiga has only suffered three defeats since coming to the UFC, but all three of those losses came to former flyweight title challengers in Joseph Benavidez, John Dodson and Henry Cejudo. Formiga will be competing on his ninth “fight night” card as Formiga has never competed on a UFC pay-per-view event thus far.
Pettis (14-2-0) has also won four of his last five fights, those wins have come over Yoatzin Meza, Matt Hobar, Chris Cariaso and Chris Kelades. Pettis is the brother of former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis, they will not be competing on the same card this time around. Pettis is also a former Resurrection Fighting Alliance Flyweight Champion, he defeated Dillard Pegg to win the title.
UFC Fight Night 103 takes place on Saturday, January 15 from the Talking Stick Arena in Phoenix, Arizona with no headliners announced as of this time.
