Tony Ferguson Won’t Need Orbital Bone Surgery
It was revealed that Ferguson suffered a broken orbital bone during the fight with Gaethje, an injury that would keep the fighter out of action for quite a while.
However, a report from MMA Junkie is stating that Ferguson will not need any surgery to repair the damage from the broken orbital bone. That will also allow Ferguson to return to the Octagon sooner than if surgery was need, but no return date or timeline have been revealed at this time.
Ferguson suffered his first loss in over eight years and that defeat also cost the fighter a chance to fight UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, whom Gaethje is now expected to fight later this year. Ferguson did post a video of him dancing in the hospital earlier this week, but he has yet to comment on the loss to the new UFC Interim Lightweight Champion.
