Tony Ferguson & Anthony Pettis Give UFC 229: Conor vs. Khabib Predictions
Former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis and former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson will clash in the co-main event of UFC 229.
UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor will clash in the UFC 229 main event, a main event which may have an awkward ending if Ferguson proves to be correct.
“Double knockout,” Ferguson said at the UFC 229 media day. “I’m gonna keep saying it this whole entire time. I hope these bitches knock each other out. They took enough shit, f*ck it. I hope they deal with what they gotta deal with and squash this shit. This is a man’s sport. We’re trying to clean this shit up, yet you got these two knuckleheads going out there and making an ass out of themselves. So, whatever. You want me to cut a promo? You’re talking to the wrong guy. Talk to these guys.”
Although not confirmed by the UFC, it is expected that the winner of Pettis versus Ferguson may get the next shot at the UFC Lightweight Title.
Pettis also predicts a knockout finish for the UFC 229 main event, but there is an actual winner in his prediction.
“I think Conor wins,” Pettis said at the UFC 229 media day. “Knockout. I don’t know what round.”
UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
