Tito Ortiz Wants Wanderlei Silva To KO Chael Sonnen

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz retired after submitting Chael Sonnen in the main event of Bellator 170.

When it comes to the Bellator 180 main event between Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, the retired Ortiz expects Silva to knockout Sonnen.

“I hope Wanderlei (Silva) knocks him out,” Ortiz told MMA Junkie Radio. “That’s what I think will happen. Chael will try to go for the takedown, Wanderlei will stuff the takedown, and Wanderlei’s going to put some hands on him. I hope that’s the way it happens.”

The UFC Hall of Famer Ortiz also says his issues with Sonnen are far from over.

“He came to my dressing room (after the fight), and he goes, ‘Are we cool?’ And I go, ‘Yeah, we’re cool – only if you go out in public and apologize to me like you went out in public and disrespected me,'” Ortiz said. “If you can’t do that, then we’re not cool. Then after the press conference, right before it was over, I looked over at him and said, ‘Chael, is that all you have to say?’ And he goes, ‘Uh, happy birthday?'”

Ortiz did compete at the first ever Bellator MMA pay-per-view, defeating former middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko by first round submission.

Bellator 180 takes place on Saturday, June 24 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
