Title Fight Headlining Bellator 177
The Bellator MMA bantamweight Title will be defended in the main event of this coming April’s Bellator 177 card as bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas defends against Darrion Caldwell.
Dantas (19-4-0) will be making the second defense of his championship, last defending it against Joe Warren at Bellator 166. Dantas is currently in his second run with the bantamweight title, he started off his second reign by defeating Marcos Galvao in a rematch at Bellator 156. Dantas will be headlining his third straight Bellator MMA card. The last time he didn’t headline a Bellator MMA event was Bellator 137 in May 2015.
Caldwell (10-1-0) has won seven of eight fights under the Bellator MMA banner, with some notable wins coming over Joe Taimanglo, Rafael Silva and Joe Warren. Caldwell started off his professional MMA career on a nine fight undefeated streak, an undefeated streak that lasted over four years. Caldwell also competed three times in the Legacy Fighting Championships, where he defeated David Armas, Quaint Kempf and Gerzan Chaw.
Bellator 177 takes place on Friday, April 14 from the Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest with Eduardo Dantas and Darrion Caldwell headlining, the main card will be airing live on Spike TV.
