Thiago Alves Faces Gunnar Nelson At UFC Fight Night Copenhagen
A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Copenhagen, announced by the UFC Europe Twitter page, as Thiago Alves is in action against Gunnar Nelson.
Alves (23-14-0) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming against Max Griffin via decision at UFC Fight Night Fortaleza. Alves has previously challenged for the UFC Welterweight Championship, losing to then champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 100. Alves also tried to drop to the lightweight division, but missed weight at UFC 205 and has since returned to welterweight.

Nelson has picked up seventeen wins as a professional MMA fighter and twelve of those came by way of submission. Nelson has gone the distance four times as a professional MMA fighter and the fighter lost three of those bouts.
UFC Fight Night Copenhagen takes place on Saturday, September 28 from the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
