Stipe Miocic Proclaims Himself To Be The Best Heavyweight In UFC History

UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic successfully defended his title in the main event of UFC 220, defeating Francis Ngannou by unanimous decision.

With that win a thing of the past, a confident champion has proclaimed himself the best heavyweight in UFC history.

“It was the Stipe show tonight. It wasn’t about him. It was about me, because I’m the champ. I broke the record. I’m the best,” Miocic said at the UFC 220 post-fight press conference.

Miocic also made history at the event, becoming the first UFC Heavyweight Champion to defend the belt three times in a row.

Ngannou definitely gave it his all in the bout with Miocic, but the champion felt the challengers power lessening as the bout went out.

“I felt that in the first round,” Miocic said. “I feel like he couldn’t put me away in that first round and I could see it, his will was dwindling away. He’s a tough dude, there’s no question. He’s really good, but I felt his will dwindling away. I could see it in his face. He couldn’t believe I was still there.”

Despite suffering the loss at UFC 220, a defeated Ngannou would be the first title challenger to get out of the first round against Micoic.
