Stipe Miocic On Potential Brock Lesnar Fight: “I Think It’d Be An Early Night For Me”

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic hasn’t competed since defeating former two division UFC champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 252, but an opponent that could be coming for Miocic is former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

Miocic was recently asked about a potential bout against Lesnar and Miocic doesn’t think he’d need much time to defeat him.

“I’ll fight anyone, there’s no question. I don’t care, I will take that fight in a heartbeat. I think it’d be an early night for me (against Brock Lesnar)…I love that fight. You never know (if the fight will happen), we’ll see,” Miocic said in an interview with Chris Van Vliet.

Lesnar hasn’t competed since UFC 200 in 2016, where he fought Mark Hunt to a no contest.

There are a lot of other contenders for Miocic to defend the heavyweight title against and Miocic is just waiting for the call from the UFC.

“There’s always somebody that comes up, there’s always guys that go on a tear. It happens, you see it all the time. They send out the matchmaker, it’s what the UFC wants and so when we get that call, we’re ready,” says Miocic.

Francis Ngannou is expected to be the next challenger for Miocic, which would be a rematch from UFC 220, which Miocic won by unanimous decision.
