Son Of WWF Legend Big Bully Busick Makes Bellator Return
Branko Busick, son of WWF legend Big Bully Busick, will make his return to the Bellator ring.
Busick (2-1) will take on University of Wisconsin-Whitewater alum Jordan Newman (2-0) in a middleweight scrap at Bellator 255 on April 2, Fightful as exclusively learned. Busick’s last fight ended via no-contest. Prior to that, he was riding momentum with a two-fight winning streak, one win via submission and one via TKO. His lone loss is to Tyrell Fortune in Busick’s pro debut.
Newman is an undefeated prospect with a TKO and unanimous decision win, both under the Bellator banner.
Big Bully Busick (real name Nicholas Busick) was an American-born veteran of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), Georgia All-Star Wrestling and Global Wrestling federation. He portrayed a stereotypical 1920s bully with a turtleneck, bowler hat and cigar during his WWF run between July and November of 1991. Managed by Harvey Wippleman, Big Bully Busick shared the ring with Sid Justice, Bret Hart, The British Bulldog, Jimmy Snuka and the Brooklyn Brawler.
The WWF legend died on May 8, 2018, from cancer. He was 63-years-old.
Bellator 255 takes place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Friday, April 2. The card is headlined by a Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix semi-finals title fight between Patricio Freire and Emmanuel Sanchez. It will mark Bellator’s first broadcast on Showtime.
