Several Huge Names Dropped From UFC’s Official Rankings, Another Returns

USADA is wreaking havoc on the UFC roster, and their official rankings are affected greatly by it.

Several big names were dropped from the UFC’s rankings over the last couple of weeks due to United States Anti-Doping Agency violations. What has resulted is a major reshuffling to the rankings, as well as several additions.

Jon Jones was perhaps the most notable omission from the rankings, as he was considered among the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world, listed at #4. Jones was also the #1 light heavyweight. Jones tested positive for clomiphene, an estrogen blocker, ahead of UFC 200 in July.

Also popping for clomiphene was former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, previously ranked at #8 among all Heavyweights. While Lesnar has faced no disciplinary action from the WWE, he has been pulled from the the UFC’s rankings. The recently suspended Frank Mir was also removed, opening the way for Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva to crack the top 15, with only one win in his last seven fights.

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Lyoto Machida is off of the Middleweight top 15 after admitting use of a USADA banned substance earlier this year. In his place, Yoel Romero re-emerged on the list after serving his USADA suspension due to a tainted supplements.
