Sergio Pettis Challenges Henry Cejudo For UFC 218
Sergio Pettis is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Brandon Moreno in the main event of UFC Fight Night Mexico City.
Pettis was also supposed to fight Henry Cejudo a few months back at UFC 211, but the flyweight pulled out of the fight due to an injury.
Cejudo has since scored a TKO victory of Wilson Reis at UFC 215 and now Pettis has called out the fighter for a bout at UFC 218.
The flyweight contender made the challenge via Instagram:
During the UFC 215 post-fight press conference, the victorious Cejudo said he wouldn’t mind a bout with Pettis.
“I like that fight,” Cejudo said. “I know he’s one guy that wants me, and so do I. I’ve just got to sit down with my team. I don’t make decisions on my own, but absolutely, I want to fight the best guys out there.”
UFC 218 takes place on Saturday, December 2 from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
