Sean Sherk Offers To Train Conor McGregor For Potential Rematch With Khabib Nurmagomedov
Former UFC Lightweight Champion Sean Sherk retired as a professional MMA fighter in 2010, ending his career with a record of 36-4-1.
UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov out wrestled and largely dominated Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229, before picking up a fourth round submission win.
The former lightweight champion believes he could help train McGregor in wrestling for a potential rematch with Nurmagomedov.
Sherk would post the following on Facebook, which is an offer to train the Irishman:
There has been no response from McGregor or anybody on his team as to whether they will take up Sherk’s offer of help. McGregor has suffered a total of four defeats as a professional MMA fighter and all of those losses have come by way of submission.
In his decade-plus professional MMA career, a now retired Sherk picked up notable wins over Karo Parisyan, Manny Gamburyan, Nick Diaz, Kenny Florian, Hermes Franca, Tyson Griffin and Evan Dunham.
It could be awhile before the rematch happens either way because McGregor and Nurmagomedov are awaiting any potential punishments for the UFC 229 post-fight brawl that was started by the UFC Lightweight Champion.
