Scott Coker Interested In Emelianenko vs. Cro Cop II
Bellator MMA President Scott Coker was in attendance at Bellator 216, where Mirko Cro Cop pulled out a decision win over Roy Nelson in a rematch from their first bout at UFC 137.
Fedor Emelianenko, who was last seen in action at Bellator 214, may see his career come to an end soon, which is why Cokmer wants to put together a rematch between Emelianenko and Cro Cop.
“I always said if (Emelianenko) wanted to do one in Russia or fight one in Japan before he moved on and retired, I think that would be something that would be a lot of fun to do for us,” Coker said after Bellator 216 (via MMA Junkie). “And especially if he wanted to do it in Moscow. I know Mirko wants to avenge that fight; his management has asked me repeatedly about it. But it’s something I have to talk to Fedor about.”
Cro Cop and Emelianenko first collided back at Pride FC: Final Conflict 2005 in August of 2005, with Emelianenko pulling out a unanimous decision on that night.
If the bout were to be promoted by Bellator MMA and it winds up happening in either Russia or Japan, it would mark Bellator’s first event in either country.
