Sarah Kaufman Believes She & Kayla Harrison Should Headline PFL Season 2 Finale

There are four competitors left in the PFL Women’s Lightweight Division Playoffs, with those fighters being Sarah Kaufman, Kayla Harrison, Larissa Pacheco and Bobbi-Jo Dalziel.

Kaufman and Harrison are the favorites to make it to the finals, which is why Kaufman believes she and Harrison should headline the PFL Season 2 Finale if they both make it to the finals.

“If it’s both of us in the finals, we should honestly almost headline — I think — the show. I really think we’re the most talked about in the PFL,” Kaufman said on the Pull No Punches podcast (via Shakiel Mahjouri of Bloody Elbow). “Everyone else is great, of course, but that hype has been there. It would make it sense for us to headline it.”

Harrison first has to beat Dalziel on tonight’s PFL card, while Kaufman has to deal with a fellow UFC veteran in Pacheco.

The UFC veteran was supposed to fight Roberta Paim Samad in her PFL regular season finale, but Samad missed weight, which Kaufman thought would cause a riff with PFL management after the fighter opted for the points instead of fighting, but there was no problem with the PFL in the end.

“I was worried about that. This is why it doesn’t make sense to fight, but I also want the company and the PFL organization to be happy with me. That relationship is very important to me,” she said. “He was like, ‘people should be professional. If I were you I wouldn’t take the fight. You’re getting your money, you’re guaranteed in the playoffs.’ I said, ‘as long as you’re not mad at me that’s what I should do.’”

PFL Season 2, Week 7 takes place tonight from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event set at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
