Sage Northcutt is returning to the Octagon in just under two months at UFC Fight Night Austin and his opponent is going to be Thibault Gouti.
Northcutt also would like to venture over to feature films, which is why he sent an audition tape to the casting director of Creed 2.
“Actually, you know what? The new Creed 2 movie is coming out, so I actually was going to audition for that. I got them a little audition tape,” Northcutt said on The MMA Hour. “Hopefully that goes through. That would be pretty neat. Being the Ivan Drago’s son in the movie, that would be pretty fun. I just had the hair a little bit different, for the audition. I think me and Mr. Dolph Lundgren look kind of alike. I did that (tape) while I was in Sacramento and I’m hoping to meet them soon.”
Creed 2 is set to be released nationwide this November, which will feature Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) again training Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) and this time the fight comes against Ivan Drago’s (Dolph Lundren) son, which is the role Northcutt is hoping to get.
While it is unknown at this time if Northcutt will get the role, a plethora of Creed 2 inspired images have popped up on Northcutt’s Instagram account:
UFC Fight Night Austin takes place on Sunday, February 18 from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas with Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
