Rory MacDonald Issues Statement On Bellator 206 Loss
Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion Rory MacDonald challenged Gegard Mousasi for the Bellator MMA Middleweight Title at Bellator 206, suffering a second round TKO loss in the main event.
The welterweight champion didn’t speak to the media after the event because he was transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.
That didn’t stop MacDonald from taking to twitter to issue a statement on his harrowing defeat:
Last night was a tough one for me, unfortunately I didnt mentally show up ready to take on a competitive fight and froze in the cage. In this sport you pay a high price if you’re not dialed in and ready to go. I have zero excuses, gegard was a fantastic champion last night.

MacDoanld will probably now be shifting his focus to the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix, which will see whomever the 170 pound champion is defend the gold in each round of the tournament. Mousasi will also be shifting his focus to Rafael Lovato Jr., whom Mousasi called the next top contender to the middleweight strap.
