Ronda Rousey Giving Her Take On Daniel Cormier: “I Think Right Now, Yeah, He’s The Best In The Game”
Ronda giving her take on DC.
This past Saturday in the main event of UFC 226, the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormeir challenged Stipe Miocic for his UFC Heavyweight Championship. Cormier emerged victorious in the bout–defeating Stipe via TKO to become only the second man in the history of UFC to hold two championships while in two separate weight classes.
DC was riding high after his victory and he then decided to make the move to call out former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar who was cage-side for the fight and the two bulls got into a small shoving match with one another. Yesterday, a USADA rep confirmed that Lesnar is indeed back in the USADA testing pool. Lesnar will be eligible to fight in January of 2019 and the fight that has the public’s attention is Cormier versus Lesnar. One individual who had her eyes on the altercation is UFC Hall Of Famer Ronda Rousey. As Ronda was leaving the airport TMZ Sports caught up with the WWE superstar and asked her for her thoughts on a potential Lesnar/Cormier bout. Ronda stated that it is likely that she will not watch due to both men being friends of hers.
“Yeah, both guys, both of them are friends of mine so I really don’t wanna pick sides but, you know, I can’t get involved [in] that one. That one will be hard to watch, I probably won’t watch it, it’ll be hard to watch. I hate watching friends of mine fight.” Ronda continued, “Yeah, you’re not happy about anything [that happens during the fight] so I’m not gonna do it.”
Following Cormier’s championship victory he was immediately regarding by some as one of the best fighters to ever step into the octagon. Ronda Rousey chimed in on those opinions and added her own–stating that as of right now, Cormier is indeed the top dog in the game.
“I mean, saying right now and ‘goat’ is kinda contradictory because one is all-time and one is right now. So, it doesn’t make sense to be the goat right now.” Ronda said. “I think right now, yeah, he’s the best in the game right now I’d say so, for sure. Real well-rounded, Olympic team captain, you don’t get that kind of position for nothing so..”
