Zuffa Boxing and the expected debut of Claressa Shields has reportedly been postponed.
A card featuring Shields vs. Amanda Serrano was expected to serve as the debut of Zuffa Boxing on December 11, according to a report last week from the Montreal Journal. The Athletic’s Sarah Shephard wrote in a follow-up tweet that UFC President Dana White’s boxing ambitions are on ice due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite reports to the contrary @TheAthleticBOX understands there will be no Zuffa women’s boxing event held in Nevada in December due to the current challenges posed by COVID. Huge shame – would have been a big opportunity for some of the biggest names in women’s #boxing.

Real kicker for the likes of Claressa Shields and Amanda Serrano who I understand were both due to have unification fights lined up.

The Zuffa Boxing event was expected to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shephard says there are no immediate plans to reschedule the show.
