Report: Zarrukh Adashev Replaces Ryan Benoit At UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo
Ryan Benoit has been pulled from this weekend’s UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo card, replacing him against Tyson Nam is Zarrukh Adashev.
Aaron Bronsteter of TSN first reported the news, although a reason for Benoit’s withdrawal wasn’t revealed at this time.
Nam (18-11-1) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped fights to the duo of Sergio Pettis and Kai Kara France. Nam hasn’t picked up a victory in almost a year, with that last win coming over Shojin Miki at X-1 World Events 55. Nam has suffered eleven losses as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them have come by way of decision.
Adashev (3-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Adashev went undefeated during a run in Bellator MMA, picking up victories over Christian Medina, Ronie Arana Leon and Tevin Dyce. Adashev has competed four times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those encounters went the distance.
UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo is set for Saturday, June 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillo headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
