Report: Zabit Magomedsharipov Off UFC Fight Night Boston
The co-main event of the forthcoming UFC Fight Night Boston card has taken a hit because a report from MMA Junkie is stating that Zabit Magomedsharipov has been pulled from a bout against Calvin Kattar.
There is no word at this time as to why Magomedsharipov was pulled from the card, as neither the fighter or the UFC have commented on the matter. The report from MMA Junkie also states that the bout between Magomedsharipov and Kattar could be re-booked for UFC Fight Night Moscow, but nothing has been made official at this time.
Magomedsharipov (17-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having picked up wins over Mike Santiago, Sheymon Moraes, Kyle Bochniak, Brandon Davis and Jeremy Stephens. Magomedsharipov has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Igor Egorov at Pro FC 47 in April of 2013. Magomedsharipov has competed eighteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just four of those encounters went the distance.
Kattar (20-3-0) enters the contest while riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Chris Fishgold and Ricardo Lamas. Kattar has suffered just a single defeat in the UFC, with that loss coming against Renato Carneiro at UFC 223. Kattar has picked up a total of twenty wins as a professional MMA fighter and nine of those wins came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Boston takes place on Friday, October 18 from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with Dominick Reyes and Chris Weidman headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
