Report: Yoel Romero Faces Paulo Costa At UFC 241

A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC 241 according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN as #2 Yoel Romero is going to be in action against #8 Paulo Costa.

Romero (13-3-0) is going to be competing for the first time in over a year, with his last bout taking place at UFC 225 in June of 2018. Romero has twice before challenged for the UFC Middleweight Title, losing to Robert Whittaker both times at UFC 213 and UFC 225. Romero had a third opportunity to capture middleweight gold at UFC 221, but the fighter missed weight for an eventual win over Luke Rockhold.

Costa (12-0-0) has already picked up four wins under the UFC banner, defeating Garreth McClellan, Oluwale Bamgbose, Johny Hendricks and Uriah Hall. Costa has competed twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and none of his bouts have gone the distance. Costa is still undefeated thus far as a professional MMA fighter and that streak has already lasted over seven years.

UFC 241 takes place on Saturday, August 17 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
