Report: Warrant Issued For Anthony Johnson After Missed Court Date

UFC fighter Anthony Johnson is reportedly making his way back to the UFC next year, competing in the promotion’s heavyweight division.

However, some outside of the Octagon issues need to be handled first because a warrant has reportedly been issued for Johnson after the fighter allegedly missed a court date according to Bloody Elbow

The warrant for Johnson was issued this past Friday (September 27), as Johnson was supposed to appear in court for a domestic battery charge that the fighter received earlier this year. Johnson had previously accepted a plea deal in relation to the domestic battery charge and had recently finished a court mandated anger management program. Johnson was accused of domestic battery by an ex-girlfriend after allegedly picking her up and carrying said person into another room as the duo were in the midst of a heated argument.

There has been no comment at this time from either Johnson or a member of his legal team on the warrant that has been issued. There is also no word yet as to whether or not this latest legal issue is going to affect the fighter’s potential UFC return in 2020.
