Report: UFC Creating Approved Supplements List As Early As Next Year
There has been a lot of talk surrounding the UFC and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in recent days after the promotion decided to relocate UFC 232 from Las Vegas, Nevada to Inglewood, California after the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) found an abnormality in Jones’ drug test.
The UFC could be taking a huge step towards more transparency with their fighters and USADA, as the promotion may release an approved supplements list sometime next year.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN shared the following on Twitter:
Interesting. Jeff Novitzky says as early as next year, UFC will have an “approved supplements” list. If fighters pop for anything that is traced to a contamination of one of these approved supplements, it will be thrown out. Sounds like a good thing for athletes to me.

No word has been given yet as to which supplements will get approval and which ones will still be considered illegal by the UFC. It is also unknown if the UFC is creating the list of approved supplements or if they will partner with USADA to create the list together. The UFC did make changes to the drug testing policy earlier this year, stating that a failed test result will not get shared with the public until all due process is completed.
