Report: UFC 244 Prelims Bring In Over 900,000 Viewers

This past weekend was the highly anticipated UFC 244 card, which saw Jorge Masvidal defeat Nate Diaz by third round TKO to win the BMF Championship.

A four fight preliminary card also aired live on ESPN 2 before the main card and that brought in an average of 910,000 viewers according to ShowBuzz Daily. It was the featured preliminary card bout between Corey Anderson and Johnny Walker that brought in the most viewers, with 1.21 million people checking out the light heavyweight division affair.

Other fights that took place on that portion of the preliminary card saw Shane Burgos defeat Makwan Amirkhani, Edmen Shahbazyan defeat Brad Tavares and Jairzinho Rozenstruik defeat Andrei Arlovski. All four bouts on that portion of the preliminary card ended with KO/TKO finishes, with only one fight (Burgos/Amirkhani) making it past the first round.

Up next for the UFC is UFC Fight Night Moscow, which is headlined by Zabit Magomedsharipov facing Calvin Kattar and the whole card will stream live on ESPN+. Bellator MMA also returns on Friday Night with a card headlined by Costello Van Steenis and John Salter, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
