Report: Two Bouts Added To UFC Fight Night Stockholm, Volkan Oezdemir In Action
A pair of bouts have been added to UFC Fight Night Stockholm according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #7 Volkan Oezdemir faces #9 Ilir Latifi and #10 Jimi Manuwa faces Aleksandar Rakic.
Oezdemir (15-4-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Daniel Cormier, Anthony Smith and Dominick Reyes. Oezdemir hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years, with that last win coming over Jimi Manuwa at UFC 217.
Latifi (14-6-0-1NC) has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Tyson Pedro and Ovince St. Preux. Latifi has suffered six losses as a professional MMA fighter, but he has yet to be beaten by way of submission.
Manuwa (17-5-0) comes into the bout while on a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the trio of Volkan Oezdemir, Jan Blachowicz and Thiago Santos. Manuwa hasn’t won a bout in just over two years, with that last victory coming over Corey Anderson at UFC Fight Night 107.
Rakic (11-1-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition, picking up wins over Francimar Barroso, Justin Ledet and Devin Clark. Rakic enters the bout while riding an eleven fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over seven years.
UFC Fight Night Stockholm takes place on Saturday, June 1 from the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden with Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
