Tom Lawlor had a rough Saturday night.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly, Tom Lawlor suffered a broken hand in the second round of his fight against Deron Winn at Golden Boy MMA. Lawlor dropped a unanimous decision to Winn, losing all three rounds on each judge’s scorecard. The bout was mostly contested on the feet, with Winn landing the more successful strikes and showing more aggression throughout.
The bout against Winn marked the first time Lawlor had fought since March 2016. In October of 2016, he failed a United States Anti-Doping Agency out-of-competition drug test for Ostarine and was hit with a two-year suspension as a result.
During his time away from MMA, Lawlor threw himself into professional wrestling and signed to compete for MLW. Lawlor is scheduled to compete at MLW’s television tapings in Miami on Dec. 13 and 14, although those plans may change with this injury. It is unknown if Lawlor will need surgery or how long he is scheduled to be out of action for.
Fightful will provide further update when more information is known.
