Report: Thiago Santos vs. Glover Teixeira Rebooked For 11/7 Headliner
A light heavyweight division attraction will headline a yet to be announced UFC card on November 7 as Thiago Santos faces Glover Teixeira.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the news, as the first two bouts were canceled after both fighters came down with COVID-19.
Santos (21-7-0) is competing for the first time since getting double knee surgery, which came after a loss to UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at UFC 239. Santos has previously headlined three UFC cards, earning a 2-1-0 record in those previous main event encounters. Santos has picked up 21 wins as a professional MMA fighter and fifteen of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Teixeira (31-7-0) enters the contest riding a four-fight winning streak with those wins coming over Karl Roberson, Ion Cutelaba, Nikita Krylov and Anthony Smith. Teixeira has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to Jon Jones by decision at UFC 172. Teixeira hasn’t suffered a defeat in over four year with that last loss coming to Corey Anderson at UFC Fight Night Hamburg.
The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, November 7 from a location to announced with Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
