Report: Tagir Ulanbekov Faces Bruno Silva At UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira

A flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira as Tagir Ulanbekov faces Bruno Silva.

MMA Fighting reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Ulanbekov (10-1-0) is making his UFC debut in this fight and the fighter does so on the strength of a three bout winning streak. Ulanbekov is a former Fight Nights Global and Gorilla Fighting Championship Flyweight Champion, relinquishing the GFC title after signing with the UFC. Ulanbekov was originally set to make his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez II, but pulled out of the bout after the death of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

Silva (10-4-2-1NC) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, dropping a bout to David Dvorak and fighting Khalid Taha to a no contest. Silva hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, with his last win coming over Ralph Costa at World Fighting Federation 40 in October of 2018. Silva has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of decision.

UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira takes place on Saturday, September 12 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
