Report: Stevie Ray Faces Jessin Ayari At UFC Fight Night Moncton
A lightweight division attraction has been added to the highly anticipated UFC Fight Night Moncton card according to MMA Fighting as Stevie Ray faces Jessin Ayari.
Ray (21-8-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Paul Felder and Kajan Johnson. Ray hasn’t picked up a win in well over a year, with that last victory coming over Joe Lauzon at UFC Fight Night 108. Ray is also a former Cage Warriors Lightweight Champion, defeating UFC veteran Curt Warburton to win the gold in June of 2014.
Ayari (16-4-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, defeating Jim Wallhead and suffering a defeat to Darren Till. Ayari is also returning to action for the first time in over a year, with his last bout taking place at UFC Fight Night 107. Ayari has seen his last three fights go the distance and it has been almost three years since the fighter got a finish.
UFC Fight Night Moncton takes place on Saturday, October 27 from the Moncton Events Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada with Volkan Oezdemir and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
