Report: Six Fights Added To Bellator 243 Preliminary Card, Christian Edwards In Action

The Bellator 243 preliminary card has filled up quickly as six new fights have been added to it, with those bouts being Cris Lencioni vs. A.J. Agazarm, Taylor Johnson vs. Joel Bauman, Christian Edwards vs. Ahmed Safir, Nainoa Dung vs. Charlie Campbell, Dalton Rosta vs. Mark Gardner and Grant Neal vs. Hamza Salim.

MMA Fighting first reported all six new preliminary card bouts.

Lencioni (6-2-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, picking up wins over Adil Benjilany and Salim Mukhidinov. Agazarm (3-1-0) enters the contest riding a three fight winning streak and he hasn’t been defeated in well over a year.

Johnson (5-1-0) is making his Bellator MMA debut in this encounter, despite not earning a victory in over a year. Bauman (3-1-0) is winless thus far under the Bellator MMA banner, dropping a bout to Jordan Young at Bellator 224.

Edwards (3-0-0) has picked up three wins as a professional MMA fighter and two of them came by way of KO/TKO. Safir (1-1-0) is competing for the first time in almost two years, with his last bout happening in September of 2018.

Dung (3-1-0) has won two of three in Bellator MMA competition, with those wins coming over Kona Oliveira and Brad Robinson. Campbell (1-1-0) is making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and the fighter hasn’t picked up a win in over a year.

Rosta (2-0-0) has spent his entire professional MMA career in Bellator MMA, defeating the duo of Cody Vidal and Claude Wilcox. Gardener (1-1-0) is making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and the fighter did go undefeated as an amateur.

Neal (3-0-0) has already competed twice in Bellator MMA, with those wins coming over Jimmy Lugo and the aforementioned Wilcox. Salim (3-2-0) is making his Bellator MMA debut and is also competing for the first time in almost two years.

Bellator 243 takes place on Friday, August 7 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Michael Chandler and Ben Henderson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
