Report: Shane Burgos Faces Makwan Amirkhani At UFC 244

A featherweight division attraction has been added to UFC 244 according to Newsday as #12 Shane Burgos is going to be in action against Makwan Amirkhani.

Burgos (12-1-0) is entering the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Kurt Holobaugh and Cub Swanson. Burgos has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Calvin Kattar at UFC 220. Burgos has competed a total of thirteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those encounters went the distance. 

Amirkhani (15-3-0) will also come into the contest while riding a two fight winning streak, with his wins coming over Chris Fishgold and Jason Knight. Amirkhani is going to be competing for the second time in 2019, which is the first time he has fought twice or more in the same year since 2015. Amirkhani has picked up fifteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and ten of those victories came by way of submission.

UFC 244 takes place on Saturday, November 2 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
