Report: Sergei Kharitonov vs. Linton Vassell Headlines Bellator 234

A heavyweight division attraction is going to be headlining Bellator 234 according to MMA Junkie as Sergei Kharitonov is going to be in action against Linton Vassell.

Kharitonov (29-6-0-2NC) has won three of five under the Bellator MMA banner, with those victories coming over Matt Mitrione, Chase Gormley and Roy Nelson. Kharitonov is going to be headlining his fourth straight Bellator MMA card and he holds a record of 2-0-0-1NC in the previous three main event bouts. Kharitonov has picked up twenty nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and nineteen of them have come by way of KO/TKO. 

Vassell (13-3-0-1NC) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the trio of Ryan Bader, Phil Davis and Valentin Moldavsky. Vassell hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years, with that last win coming over Liam McGeary at Bellator 179. Vassell has suffered eight losses as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of them came by way of KO/TKO.

Other bouts reportedly set for the card are Roger Huerta (24-11-1) vs. Sidney Outlaw (13-3-0) and Olga Rubin (6-1-0) vs. Sinead Kavanagh (5-4). Haim Gozali (11-6), Aviv Gozali (3-0) and Austin Vanderford (8-0) are also set for the event against yet to be announced opponents.

Bellator 234 takes place on Thursday, November 14 from the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel with Sergei Kharitonov and Linton Vassell headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
