Report: Senzo Ikeda Replaces Andrew Leone In One Championship Flyweight World Grand Prix

Andrew Leone has suffered an injury and has been pulled from the One Championship Flyweight World Grand Prix according to MMA Junkie, replacing him in the tournament and facing Danny Kingad in the opening round is Senzo Ikeda.

Kingad (9-1-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a four fight winning streak, last defeating Tatsumitsu Wada at One Championship: Hero’s Ascent. Kingad has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Adriano Moraes at One Championship: Legends Of The World. Kingad has competed ten times as a professional MMA fighter and seven of those encounters went the distance.

Ikeda (12-6-1) is going to be making his One Championship debut in this bout and does so while on a four fight winning streak. Ikeda is also the current Pancrase Flyweight Champion, defeating Mamoru Yamaguchi to win the gold at Pancrase 289 in August of 2017. Ikeda is also competing for the first time in over a year, with his last bout happening in February of 2018.

One Championship: A New Era takes place on Sunday, March 31 from the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan with Eduard Folayang and Shinya Yoki headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on Bleacher Report Live.
