Report: Sean O’Malley Faces Jose Quinonez At UFC 229

A bantamweight division attraction has been added to the UFC 229 card according O’Malley himself as Sean O’Malley is in action against Jose Quinonez.

O’Malley (10-0-0) has already picked up a pair of wins under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Terrion Ware and Andre Soukhamthath. O’Malley also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 2, defeating Alfred Khashakyan by first round knockout. O’Malley has picked up a total of ten wins as a professional MMA fighter, with six of those victories coming by way of KO/TKO.

Quinonez (7-2-0) enters the contest on the strength of a four fight winning streak, defeating Leonardo Morales, Joey Gomez, Diego Rivas and Teruto Ishihara. Quinonez made it to the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Latin America 1,  but lost to Alejandro Perez in that final bout. Quinonez is fighting for the second time in 2018 and that would mark the first time that Quinonez has fought twice in a calendar year during his UFC tenure.

UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
