Report: Ronaldo Souza Faces Uriah Hall At UFC 249
A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC 249 as #10 Uriah Hall faces #15 (LHW) Ronaldo Souza.
ESPN first reported the bout, but its position on the card isn’t known at this time.
Hall (15-9-0) comes into the contest on the strength of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Bevon Lewis and Antonio Carlos Jr. Hall hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Paulo Costa at UFC 226. Hall was a finalist on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 17, but he lost to Kelvin Gastelum in the finals of the reality show.
Souza (26-8-0-1NC) is returning to middleweight after a one bout stint at light heavyweight, which resulted in a loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo. Souza has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Chris Weidman at UFC 230. Souza has picked up twenty six wins as a professional MMA fighter and fourteen of them came by way of submission.
UFC 249 takes place on Saturday, April 18 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
