Report: Ronaldo Souza Faces Jan Blachowicz In UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo Main Event
A light heavyweight division attraction will headline UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #6 (MW) Ronaldo Souza is in action against #5 Jan Blachowicz.
Souza (26-7-0-1NC) is making his UFC Light Heavyweight Division debut in this fight, having previously competed in the promotion as a middleweight. Souza has rotated wins and losses in his last six UFC bouts, with the latest bout being a unanimous decision loss to Jack Hermansson at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale. Souza is a former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion, defeating Tim Kennedy at Strikeforce: Houston to win the gold.
Blachowicz (24-8-0) has won five of his last six under the UFC banner, with the last bout being a second round knockout win over Luke Rockhold at UFC 239. Blachowicz has previously headlined one UFC event, which was a third round TKO loss to Thiago Santos at UFC Fight Night Prague. Blachowicz has suffered eight losses as a professional MMA fighter and five of them have come by way of decision.
