Report: Philipe Lins Replaces Mike Kyle In PFL Season One

Mike Kyle has suffered an injury and won’t be able to compete in the first season of the Professional Fighters League according to MMA Fighting.

Replacing Kyle this season is going to be Bellator MMA veteran Philipe Lins, who faces Shawn Jordan next month at PFL 1.

Lins (10-3-0) won three of six during his time in Bellator MMA, with those victories coming over Travis Clark, James Austen Heidlage and Guilherme Viana. Lins hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, as his last win came over the aforementioned Guilherme Viana at Bellator 159 in July of 2016. Lins has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter, with all of those victories coming by way of KO/TKO. Lins will also be making his heavyweight division debut in this bout, as he has previously competed at light heavyweight.

The winner of each weight class in the first season of the PFL will win $1 million, with the first season kicking off this June.

PFL 1 takes place on Thursday, June 7 from The Hulu Theater At Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Andre Harrison and Jumabieke Tuerxon headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the NBC Sports Network.
