Report: Pat Sabatini Now Faces James Gonzalez In CFFC 81 Main Event
Mauro Chaulet has been pulled from this weekends CFFC 81 main event, replacing him against CFFC Featherweight Champion Pat Sabatini is James Gonzalez.
MMA Junkie first reported the news and the bout will still be for the featherweight title.
Sabatini (11-2-0) is making the fourth defense of his championship, last defending it against Fabricio Oliveira at CFFC 74. Sabatini became the CFFC Featherweight Champion by defeating John De Jesus by first round submission at CFFC 67. Sabatini has picked up eleven wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of submission.
Gonzalez (4-3-0) enters the contest while riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Michael Trizano and Bill Algeo. Gonzalez hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years, with that last victory coming over Mike Lawrence at Ring Of Combat 59. Gonzalez has competed a total of seven times as a professional MMA fighter and five of those encounters went the distance.
Cage Fury Fighting Championships 81 takes place on Saturday, February 1 from the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania with Pat Sabatini and James Gonzalez headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
