Report: Paddy Pimblett Gets New Opponent For Cage Warriors 113 Due To Coronavirus Quarantine
Cage Warriors 113 takes place next weekend and the coronavirus has wreaked havoc on the card, mainly due to the quarantine in Italy.
Davide Martinez and Davide Baneschi have been pulled from the card due to the quarantine, which isn’t expected to end until April 3, while Danillo Belluardo has been pulled from the event due to injury. Paddy Pimblett will now be taking on Decky Dalton at the event, while Cory Tait and Mason Jones will get their replacement opponents announced in the near future.
The promotion issued the following statement through their website:
Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan has confirmed that 3 Italian fighters – Davide Martinez, Danilo Belluardo and Davide Baneschi – will be unable to compete at CW113: London next weekend.
Paddy Pimblett now takes on Decky Dalton.
Replacement opponents for Mason Jones and Cory Tait are in the works.
Answering further fan queries about the status of the event on Friday 20th March, Boylan said: “It’s business as usual for Cage Warriors, until we are advised otherwise by the venue. As of today, the show goes ahead without any restrictions.”
The sold-out Cage Warriors London is expected to be one of the promotion’s strongest cards of the year, and forms a huge weekend of MMA with UFC London taking place the following day.
The card includes many of Cage Warriors biggest names, including Morgan Charrieré, Flyweight Champion Samir Faiddine, former champion Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett and top lightweight contender Mason Jones.
With the event sold out, fans can watch the action live from the Indigo at the O2 Arena on UFC Fight Pass.
