Report: Neiman Gracie Faces Kiichi Kunimoto At Bellator 236

A welterweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 236 as Neiman Gracie is in action against Kiichi Kunimoto.

ESPN first reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at this time.

Gracie (9-1-0) is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to former Bellator Welterweight Champion Rory MacDonald at Bellator 222. Gracie made it to the semi-finals of the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix, but lost to the aforementioned MacDonald in the semi-final round bout. Gracie has picked up nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of submission.

Kunimoto (20-8-2-1NC) is winless thus far under the Bellator MMA banner, with that loss coming to Ed Ruth at Bellator 224. Kunimoto also won three of five in the UFC, with those wins coming over Luiz Jorge Dutra Jr., Daniel Sarafian and Richard Walsh. Kunimoto is a former Heat Welterweight Champion, defeating Fumitoshi Ishikawa at Heat 26 to claim the gold.

Bellator 236 takes place on Saturday, December 21 from the Neil S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii with Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Kate Jackson headining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
