Report: Mirko Cro Cop Injured & Off Bellator 200, Title Fight Now Headlines

Mirko Cro Cop has suffered an injury and has been pulled from the main event of Bellator 200 according to The Telegraph (UK), where he was supposed to fight Roy Nelson in a Bellator World Heavyweight Grand Prix alternate bout.

Nelson is expected to remain on the card at this time, as Bellator officials are seeking a replacement for him to fight.

The new main event for the card is going to be the Bellator Middleweight Title fight between champion Rafael Carvalho and Gegard Mousasi.

Carvlaho (15-1-0) is going to be making the fourth defense of his championship, having previously defended it against Melvin Manhoef (twice) and Alessio Sakara. Carvlaho won the title almost three years ago at Bellator 144, defeating Brandon Halsey by second round knockout. Carvlaho has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Julio Cesar Araujo Fernandes at Samurai FC 6 in 2011.

Mousasi (43-6-2) is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA, having defeated former middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko at Bellator 185. Mousasi does enter the contest riding a six fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost three years. Mousasi is a former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion, defeating Renato Sobral to claim the gold.

Bellator 200 takes place on Friday, May 25 from the SSE Arena in London, England with Rafael Carvlaho and Gegard Mousasi headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
