Report: Max Holloway Defends Title Against Frankie Edgar At UFC 222
The UFC Featherweight Title could be defended at UFC 222 as champion Max Holloway defends the gold against Frankie Edgar.

Holloway (19-3-0) is going to be making the second defense of his title, last defending it against Jose Aldo at UFC 218. Holloway is also a former UFC Interim Featherweight Champion, defeating former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 206 to win the gold. Holloway also enters the fight on the strength of a twelve bout winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over four years.
Edgar (22-5-1) was supposed to face Holloway for the first time at UFC 218, but pulled out of the bout due to injury. Edgar is a former UFC Lightweight Champion, defeating BJ Penn by decision to win the title at UFC 112. Edgar has failed to capture the UFC Featherweight Title in his previous two attempts, losing to Jose Aldo at UFC 156 and UFC 200.
