Report: Markus Perez Replaces Antonio Braga Neto At UFC Fight Night Lincoln
Antonio Braga Neto has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Lincoln according to Combate, replacing him against Andrew Sanchez is going to be Markus Perez.
Sanchez (9-4-0) will enter the contest while on a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Anthony Smith and Ryan Janes. Sanchez was the middleweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23, defeating Khalil Rountree in the finals of the reality show. Sanchez also suffered a pair of defeats before coming to the UFC through TUF 23, with those losses coming to UFC veterans Dustin Jacoby and Kevin Casey.
Perez (10-1-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over James Bochnovic at UFC 224. Perez has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Eryk Anders at UFC Fight Night Fresno. Perez is a former Legacy Fighting Alliance Middleweight Champion, defeating Ian Heinisch at LFA 22 to claim the gold.
UFC Fight Night Lincoln takes place on Saturday, August 25 from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska with Justin Gaethje and James Vick headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
