Report: Mark Godbeer Faces Luis Henrique At UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo 2018

A light heavyweight division affair is slated for UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo 2018 according to Jim Edwards of MMA NYTT as Mark Godbeer faces Luis Henrique.

Godbeer (13-4-0) is going to be making his light heavyweight division debut in this fight, having spent an entire eight-plus year MMA career competing at heavyweight. Godbeer has won two of four under the UFC banner, defeating the duo of Walt Harris and Daniel Spitz. Godbeer also competed once in Bellator MMA, suffering a defeat to UFC veteran Cheick Kongo by second round TKO at Bellator 102.

Henrique (10-4-0-1NC) is also going to be making his light heavyweight division debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a two fight losing streak. Henrique has won just two of five in the UFC thus far, with his victories coming over Dmitry Smoliakov and Christian Colombo. Henrique has seen just one of his five bouts in the UFC go the distance and that came against Arjan Singh Bhullar at UFC 215.

UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo 2018 takes place on Saturday, September 22 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
