Report: Luana Carolina Suffers Partial ACL Tear, Out Until 2021
It will be a while before fans see Luana Carolina in the Octagon.
Carolina was last seen in action at UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez II, suffering a first-round kneebar submission loss to Ariane Lipski. Carolina sustained considerable damage to her left knee, which will keep the fighter out of action until 2021, according to MMA Fighting.
Carolina will avoid getting surgery on the injured knee, but she did suffer a partially torn ACL and will need four to six months of treatment to heal the injury. Doctors will also repair another knee injury that Carolina suffered before the loss to Lipski.
Carolina could return between February and April of 2021, according to the aforementioned timeline. She holds a 6-2-0 record as a professional MMA fighter and a 1-1-0 record in the UFC. Her lone victory is against Priscila Cachoeira at UFC 237.
