Report: Luana Carolina Injured, Off UFC Fight Night Shenzhen
Luana Carolina has suffered a fractured spine and has been pulled from the upcoming UFC Fight Night Shenzhen card, as she was scheduled to face Yanan Wu at the event.
MMA Fighting first reported the news, while also stating that Carolina could be out of action for a total of two to thre months while recovering from the fractured spine. Wi is expected to remain on the card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement for her to compete against.
Wu (10-2-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, having defeated Lauren Mueller by second round submission at UFC Fight Night Beijing. Wu has competed a total of twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and only three of those bouts went to the judges scorecards. Wu has suffered just two losses as a professional MMA fighter, with those defeats coming to a pair of fellow UFC fighters in Yana Kunitskaya and Gina Mazany.
UFC Fight Night Shenzhen takes place on Saturday, August 31 from the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, China with Jessica Andrade and Weili Zhang headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
