Report: Liddell vs. Ortiz III Did Approximately 25,000 Buys
Golden Boy MMA is not required to report pay-per-view buy rates, since they are not a publicly traded company. However, reports have surfaced stating that the buy rate was less than spectacular for the third bout between the two MMA legends.
Lance Pugmire of the LA Times took to Twitter to state that the buys for the show may have been under 30,000:
Industry source tells me the Liddell-Ortiz PPV buys may be as low as 30,000….but the Tiger-Phil golf might reach 1 million (all refunded, but a glimpse of what a low price can generate).

Kevin Iole would also take to Twitter, stating that the show did around 25,000 buys:
I’ve heard 25k for the fight

There will never be an exact number released to the general public, but the show did air via pay-per-view and Fite TV. Fite TV was also set to hold a special Black Friday sale, making the show $19.99 for a short time, but those plans were nixed. A second event has yet to be announced by Golden Boy MMA at this time.
