Report: LFA Signs UFC Veteran Michinori Tanaka
There is a big addition coming to the LFA Bantamweight Division as the Legacy Fighting Alliance has signed UFC veteran Michinori Tanaka to a multi-fight contract.
Sherdog first reported the news, but the length of the contract and any financial numbers associated with the deal weren’t revealed at this time.
Tanaka (13-3-0) enters the promotion riding a two fight winning streak, picking up victories over the duo of Rogerio Bontorin and Vladimir Leontiev. Tanaka hasn’t competed in approximately one year, as his last fight took place at Pancrase 303 in May of 2019. Tanaka won two of five fights when competing in the UFC, with those victories coming over the two pack of Joe Soto and Roland Delorme. Tanaka is a former Pacific Xtreme Combat Bantamweight Champion, but he relinquished the title upon signing with the UFC in 2014.
No word has been given at this time as to when Tanaka will make his promotional debut or whom that bout will come against.
