Report: Leandro Higo Faces Shawn Bunch At Bellator 228
A bantamweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 228 according to MMA Fighting as Leandro Higo is going to be in action against Shawn Bunch.
Higo (18-5-0) has won just one of his last four under the Bellator MMA banner, with that lone win coming over Joe Taimanglo at Bellator 184. Higo will come into the encounter while in the midst of a two fight losing streak and he hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years. Higo is a former Legacy Fighting Alliance Bantamweight Champion, defeating Steven Peterson at LFA 1 to claim the gold.
Bunch (9-3-0) has been undefeated thus far during his second run with Bellator MMA, defeating the duo of Joe Warren and Dominic Mazzotta. Bunch won four of six during his initial run with Bellator MMA, with a notable win coming over Rolando Perez at Bellator 137. Bunch has picked up nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of decision.
Bellator 228 takes place on Saturday, September 28 from The Forum in Inglewood, California with Patricio Pitbull and Juan Archuleta headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
